Bought as a gift. I liked the pictures, but the story was sort of boring. Unimaginative.

Snow edition by Sam Usher Children eBooks Reviews

In SNOW, a young boy sees that it has snowed outside and is eager to be the first one out the door to play in the wonderful newness. However, he has to wait for his Granddad. Then there are things that his Granddad makes him do that take even longer (put on a hat, put on a scarf, etc.). By the time they leave the house, lots of people and animals have already tampered and walked through the snow. However, the boy soon learns that "some things are definitely worth waiting for." Overall, I really enjoyed SNOW, particularly the unusual ending.
Great illustrations. The story is lacking a flow and proved unexciting to read.
The awe and wonder of freshly fallen snow. The excitement of being the FIRST ONE to set foot in it. The impatience of little kids when they want to do things RIGHT NOW but overlook the details (like forgetting your scarf). These are all things that our main character experiences that any parent with children can relate to.

Our main character is very excited to go out and play in the snow. Unfortunately for him, he has to wait for his granddad to get ready (though- Granddad is just practical. Snow means cold and it's ok to wait 'til the party's started before heading out so as to not freeze to death). Eventually, they head out to the park and play in the snow- granddad front and center in the snowball fun. Our hero learns that "some things are definitely worth waiting for".

As far as the story, it had a nice imaginative twist to it towards the end. Recommended reading for a snowy day!
Beautifully illustrated story of a boy and his Grandpa. Our grandson wants to hear it over and over again..... read by his grandpa!
